Trump, Kim Vow to Denuclearize North Korea

In a historic first, President Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jung-on have agreed to the denuclearization of North Korea.

Though there are few details to the agreement, both men hailed the signed document as the first step in an ongoing process.

“President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” said the statement.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the two sides would hold follow-up negotiations "at the earliest possible date." President Trump said he would invite the North Korean leader to the White House.
