Trump: Peace Before Embassy Move

President Donald Trump wants to make a major peace push before moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

Speaking in an interview with former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee, Trump said of his peace initiative, "I want to give that a shot before I even think about moving the embassy to Jerusalem."

Trump added, "If we can make peace between the Palestinians and Israel, I think it'll lead to ultimately peace in the Middle East, which has to happen."

A law passed by Congress mandates moving the embassy to Jerusalem, but the president can sign a waiver every six months to delay the move. Thus far, every president, including Trump, has done so.

When Huckabee asked if he would be moving the embassy soon, Trump replied, "We're going to make a decision in the not too distant future."
