Revealed: How a Dutch Mole Aided the Stuxnet Cyberattack on Iran


Yahoo News reports that a Dutch spy aided Israeli and American intelligence agencies to infiltrate Iran's Natanz nuclear plant and introduce the Stuxnet virus.

Posing as a mechanic, the Dutch agent uploaded the virus via a flash drive, Yahoo News reports. He did so after visiting the plant numerous times and mapping out its computer systems.

“[He] had to get … in several times in order to collect essential information [that could be used to] update the virus accordingly,” one of the sources told Yahoo News.

Iran eventually discovered the virus after it spread beyond the Natanz plant, altering security experts.
