Russia Taking Control on Syrian Golan Heights


In welcome news for Jerusalem, Russia is establishing control throughout the Israel-adjacent Syrian Golan Heights.

Moscow has established local militias, many of whose members fought against the Syrian regime in the past and were the recipients of Israeli aid, Israel 24 News reports:

Dubbed “The Huran Army,” the biblical name of the region, the militia is headed by a local rebel commander, Ahmed al-Ouda, who fought against Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad, according to the report.

The Huran Army, consisting of multiple Muslim officers from the Caucasus, is hostile to both Iran and the Syrian regime, N12 reported.

The news site reports that the militia has been replacing Hezbollah throughout the region and dismantling Syrian army check points.
