Rockets Fired at Tel Aviv for First Time Since 2014

For the first time since Operation Protective Edge in 2014, rockets were fired from Gaza at Tel Aviv.

Air raid sirens blared on Thursday night and residents reported hearing explosions shortly afterwards. The rockets reportedly fell in open areas. There were no injuries.

In addition, nine rockets were fired at Israeli border towns, also causing no injuries. Six were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.

In response, Israel struck 100 targets in the Gaza Strip, including a Hamas headquarters.

Reports on Friday indicted that Israel and Hamas had agreed on a ceasefire.

Israeli officials said the rockets were fired at Tel Aviv by mistake.
