Rabbi, Father of 12 Dies After Being Wounded in Terror Attack

A rabbi and father of 12 died on Monday after being critically wounded in a terror attack the day before.

Achiad Ettinger was shot during a terror attack at Ariel Junction in the West Bank on Sunday. A Palestinian terrorist stabbed soldier Gal Keidan to death and stole his weapon, then opened fire on passing motorists.

Despite being wounded, Ettinger reportedly managed to fire several rounds at the attacker.

The terrorist fled to the Arab village of Burqin and a manhunt is still underway.

“The people of Israel mourn over the murder of the late Rabbi Achiad Ettinger. I wish to send condolences to his family at this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, according to the Times of Israel.

President Reuven Rivlin said, “Rabbi Ettinger’s life’s work will continue with us even after his passing, and the strength he gave his students and the community he led will continue to strengthen us through this enormous grief and sorrow."

The third victim of the attack, a soldier named Alexander Dvorsky, remains in critical condition.
