AJC Poll Shows Gaping Divide Between Israel, American Jews


A new poll by the American Jewish Committee shows a massive gap between Israelis and American Jews on many key issues.

According to YNet, the poll shows that the divide is particularly wide on the issue of President Donald Trump and his policies toward the Middle East.

According to the poll, 74 percent of Israelis approve of Trump's policies toward Israel, as opposed to 34 percent of American Jews.

At the same time, 85 percent of Israelis support the relocation of the American embassy to Jerusalem. 46 percent fo American Jews did the same.

On the issue of a Palestinian state, 59 percent of American Jews support the idea, while 44 percent of Israelis do.

On religious issues, the differences were equally stark. 81 percent of American Jews want the haredi monopoly on religious issues ended and for Israel to enact civil marriage. Only around half of Israelis agree..
