Ohio Man Arrested for Threatening Massacre at Local JCC

An Ohio man has been arrested for violent threats against a Jewish community center.

According to the Times of Israel, 20-year-old James Reardon, Jr. was arrested after posting a video on Instagram showing a man firing a rifle with the sound of screams in the background.

The caption to the post read, “Police identified the Youngstown Jewish Family Community shooter as local white nationalist Seamus O’Rearedon.”

Reardon is now being held on $250,000 bail.

New Middletown Police Chief Vincent D’Egidio said of the arrest, “He was implying that he was going to be identified as the shooter of the Jewish Center."

“That kicked off a very intensive investigation, a very rapidly evolving investigation,” the chief added.

After Reardon's arrest, a search of his house revealed weapons, ammunition, and antisemitic materials.

Extra security has been deployed at the local JCC until further notice.

The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation said the incident was “a clear example of everything going right. The system worked.”
