A high-ranking Iranian military official was quoted Wednesday as saying Europeans "have lost their qualification to hold nuclear talks with Iran" due to "interference" in the post-election riots, the New York Times reports. “Before apologizing for their huge mistake, [European countries] have no right to talk about nuclear negotiations,” said Hassan Firouzabadi, Iran's chief of staff, according to a Fars report quoted by Reuters. Iranian authorities have especially sought to cast Britain as leading the unrest following the disputed June 12 elections in which incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won in a landslide vote. |
