Netanyahu Seeks White House Approval to Annex Jordan Valley

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu wants to annex the Jordan Valley, but he wants White House approval first.

The prime minister wants to announce the annexation before the March 2 elections, in which he finds himself in a tight race with a center-left coalition.

A number of Israeli political players support the move, including Benny Gantz, Naftali Bennett, and Avigdor Lieberman. If it comes to a vote, Netanyahu will likely have the support of 63 MKs.

Still, it's a policy change that will surely bring censure from the international community.
