Lapid: Hamas' Turkish Offices Must Be Shut Down

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said that Hamas’ headquarters in Turkey must be shut down, in a pointed message to the Turkish government, the Times of Israel reports.

Under antisemitic president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey has allowed Hamas to operate freely and pursue terrorist activity on its territory.

After a shooting on Sunday that killed one Israeli and the announcement of mass arrests of Hamas terrorists in the West Bank, Lapid said, “Hamas’ offices in Istanbul will be shut down. We must prevent these heinous acts of terrorism against Israeli citizens everywhere and under any conditions.”

“The countries of the world must act like Britain and outlaw Hamas,” he added, in reference to Britain’s recent decision to designate the entirety of the genocidal racist organization as a terrorist group.
