Report: Israel Strikes Syria for Fifth Time This Month

Syrian media reports that Israel launched missiles against targets near Homs, Syria in an early morning attack.

Damage was caused to several structures, the military claimed, according to Reuters.

Israel did not comment on the attack, following its policy, but Syrian media said two civilians were killed and several soldiers injured.

According to the Times of Israel:

Israeli officials have expressed increasing concern over the proliferation of Iranian-made surface-to-air missile systems in Syria, as well as the Syrian military’s improved air defense capabilities, which have made it more difficult for the IDF to operate over Syria.

This was the fifth attack attributed to Israel this month, and comes as world powers are preparing to restart talks with Iran over its nuclear program.
