Revealed: Israel Providing Aid to Syrian Kurds

Israel is aiding the Kurds of northern Syria against a Turkish assault following President Donald Trump’s pullout of American troops.

The aid was confirmed by Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely, the Times of Israel reports.

“Israel has received many requests for assistance, mainly in the diplomatic and humanitarian realm,” she told the Knesset. “We identify with the deep distress of the Kurds, and we are assisting them through a range of channels.”

She also stated that Israel is advocating for the Kurds to the American government, saying that in “dialogue with the Americans … we state our truth regarding the Kurds … and we are proud of our taking a stand alongside the Kurdish people.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged last month to assist the Kurds, stating, “Israel strongly condemns the Turkish invasion of the Kurdish areas in Syria and warns against the ethnic cleansing of the Kurds by Turkey and its proxies. Israel is prepared to extend humanitarian assistance to the gallant Kurdish people.”
