Israel Arrests West Bank Islamic Jihad Chief

Israel arrested a top Islamic Jihad terrorist in the West Bank on Monday, the Times of Israel reports.

According to the Shin Bet, Israel's domestic security service, Tariq Qa’adan is a major figure in the terrorist group and was arrested for this reason.

The arrest comes after several weeks of tension between Israel and Islamic Jihad, beginning when Israel blew up a terror tunnel dug by the group in Gaza, killing 10 of its terrorists in the process.

Islamic Jihad issued a series of hysterical threats against the Jewish state after the incident. Israeli officials responded by warning the terrorists to back off or face major retaliation.
