Iran Threatens to Avenge Assassination of IRGC Officer

-

Two assassins on motorcycles gunned down a senior IRGC commander in Tehran Sunday.

Iran's leader has already vowed revenge, and named the likely perpetrators — the United States and Israel.

In a speech Sunday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Hassan Sayad Khodayari was killed by "elements linked to the global arrogance," code language for Israel and the US.

“I insist on the serious pursuit (of the killers) by security officials, and I have no doubt that the blood of this great martyr will be avenged,” Raisi said. “There is no doubt that the hand of global arrogance can be seen in this crime.”

According to Israel media, Khodayari was the IRGC officer behind planned abductions and killings of Israelis and Jews worldwide.
