Trump: Iran Deal 'Under Review'

The Trump administration is officially reviewing the deal Barack Obama signed with the mullahs of Iran.

Secretary of State Tillerson announced the move in a letter to Congress on Tuesday:

"President Donald J. Trump has directed a National Security Council-led interagency review of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action that will evaluate whether suspension of sanctions related to Iran pursuant to the JCPOA is vital to the national security interests of the United States," Tillerson added.

In other words, Trump is reviewing whether the United States should reimpose sanctions on Iran. As part of the deal that the former administration signed, a number of sanctions were lifted, in addition to giving the mullahs billions of dollars and the right to build a nuclear program.

While Tillerson noted in the letter that Iran is compliant with the deal, the United States is concerned that Iran continues to be a state sponsor of terror.

At the very least, Iran is on notice.
