Assassination Attempt on P.A. Prime Minister

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah's motorcade was hit by a massive explosion in the Gaza Strip in what appears to have been an assassination attempt.

Several people were injured in the explosion, but Hamdallah himself escaped unhurt.

According to the Times of Israel, P.A. civil affairs minister Hussein Al Sheikh explicitly blamed Hamas for the assassination attempt and warned there would be serious consequences.

Hamas condemned the assassination attempt and said it had already arrested several suspects.

There have been no claims for responsibility for the bombing.
