Defense Minister Gantz Following Attack on Iranian Ship: 'We Will Continue to Act'

Following a reported Israeli retaliatory attack on an Iranian ship in the Red Sea, Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Israel “will continue to act” as necessary to defend itself.

The ship in question was damaged by limpet mines, and was being used by Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. It came after an Iranian attack on an Israeli ship last month.

The Times of Israel reports that at a press conference on Wednesday, Gantz said, “The State of Israel must defend itself. Every place we find an operational challenge or operational need, we will continue to act.”

In a speech given shortly before, Gantz said, “To our enemies I want to say: We are here today marking 10 years of active service of the Iron Dome, but this isn’t the only system we have.”

“We have offensive capabilities that operate 24/7, 365 days a year. They are ready for use on any front, at any range and for any action that the IDF needs,” he added.
