Ambassador Friedman: Palestinian Reaction to

Killing of Rabbi Shows Why There Is No Peace

In an unusually forthright statement, U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman slammed the Palestinians for their celebration of the murder of Rabbi Raziel Shevach in the West Bank, the Jerusalem Post reports.

"An Israeli father of six was killed last night in cold blood by Palestinian terrorists," Friedman tweeted. "Hamas praises the killers and PA laws will provide them financial rewards. Look no further to why there is no peace."

Friedman's statement is unusally forthright for a diplomat, though he has been noted for his full-throated support for Israel in the past.

Shevach was killed in a driveby shooting on Tuesday night. His murderers have yet to be found despite an intensive IDF search.
