California Enacts Law Requiring Ethnic Studies Curriculum Accused of Antisemitism

-

Has the state of California decided to make antisemitism a requirement for its high school students?

The Algemeiner reports that Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a bill making an ethnic studies curriculum a graduation requirement.

But this curriculum has been widely attacked as antisemitic and racist against Israel.

AMCHA Initiative Director Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, who has opposed the bill, said, “To say we are deeply concerned is an understatement. While certainly not all in the ethnic studies field fall into this category, there is a vocal and active faction of extremists who have long been seeking to inject their antisemitic and anti-Zionist agenda into our nation’s classrooms, and today that faction succeeded.”

“This is a dark day for Jewish students in California and the dozens of other states that historically follow California’s lead,” she said.
