U.S. official says there will be no embassy move for now

The U.S. embassy to Israel will remain in Tel Aviv for now.

YNet reports that a senior U.S. official stated that President Donald Trump is postponing a decision on whether to move the embassy for fear of upsetting his attempt to jumpstart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

"We're having very good discussions with all parties," he reportedly said, "and as long as we see that happening, then we don't intend to do anything that we think could upset those discussions."

However, the official left open the possibility that the embassy will eventually be moved. "We don't think it's the right time to do it right now," he said, "but we'll re-evaluate it down the road."
