Bolton Slams Iran's Belligerence, Says Door Open to Negotiations

A day after the United States imposed new sanctions on Iran's supreme leader, national security adviser John Bolton slammed the regime's belligerence, saying the door was still open for negotiation.

According to the Times of Israel, Bolton urged Iran to quit its "malign behavior" and enter into "real negotiations." Bolton made the remarks at a meeting of top officials from Israel, the United States and Russia who are meeting in Jerusalem to discuss Iranian influence in the Middle East.

Bolton also said the Iranian regime is still seeking nuclear weapons, despite signing the 2015 nuclear deal.

“There’s simply no evidence that Iran has made the strategic decision to renounce nuclear weapons and open realistic discussions to demonstrate that decision.

“In just a few days,” he noted, “Iran has threatened to exceed the key limits imposed by the inadequate 2015 Iran nuclear deal, exposing once again the fatal deficiencies of that failed agreement.”

Bolton urged the Iranians to "walk through the open door" of negotiations.
