Despite Political Turmoil, Biden's Visit to Israel Still On

Despite Israel's current political turmoil, US President Joe Biden's scheduled visit to Israel will take place as planned.

The president's intention to follow through on the July visit was confirmed by the US Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides.

Israel's current governing coalition collapsed on Monday, with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announcing the dissolution of the Knesset.

Power will be handed over to interim prime minister Yair Lapid until new elections are held.

"We have a strategic relationship with Israel that goes beyond any one government. The president looks forward to the visit next month," the US embassy stated on Monday.
