67 Percent of Israelis Say Bibi

Should Step Aside If Indicted

Sixty-seven percent of Israelis believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should step aside if indicted on corruption charges.

The Jerusalem Post poll revealed that even a sizable plurality of members of Netanyahu's Likud party believe the PM should suspend himself should charges be officially made against him.

Unsurprisingly, 80 percent of Left-wingers believe Netanyahu should not only suspend himself but resign if indicted.

According to the Post, "The law only gives a prime minister the option of a 100- day suspension if he or she is in some way incapacitated. It is unprecedented for one to do so for other reasons."

Netanyahu is facing corruption charges in two cases: One for allegedly accepting gifts in return for favors and another charging collusion with media figures in return for more favorable coverage.
