Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett may be planning to leave politics, at least temporarily. After months of turmoil, Bennett agreed to dissolve the Knesset earlier this week, handing power over to Foreiogn Minister and interim Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who will formally take over leadership next week. Now, Bennett--perhaps exhausted by the rollercoaster of recent weeks--is reportedly considering a temporary retirement from politics. According to Israeli media, the prime minister raised the possibility in a meeting with members of his party Yamina. The party officials gathered there urged Bennett to make a final decision as quickly as possible, and they may follow his lead and leave politics. Read more at the Times of Israel.
