P.A. Arrests 2 Suspects in Hebron Shooting; Netanyahu and Abbas Agree to Meet Every 2 Weeks

-

Security forces of the Palestinian Authority arrested two suspects in the murder of four Israelis Tuesday night, while the leaders of Israel and the P.A. talked peace in Washington.

The suspects are two Hamas-affiliated members of Hamas, the terror group that claimed credit for Tuesday's attack near Hebron, Haaretz reports. The P.A. says it has arrested 300 Hamas members in the West Bank since the attack.

In Washington, the U.S. Mideast envoy George Mitchell announced that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would meet again on Sept. 14.

In this latest round of peace talks, Netanyahu and Abbas met Thursday morning at the U.S. State Department. Afterward, both stressed their priorities for the talks.

"Finding security is a must. Security is a foundation for peace," Netanyahu said.

Abbas, meanwhile, said that Israel must end all building in the West Bank. "We call on the Israeli government to end all settlement activity and lift the siege on the Gaza strip," Abbas said.
