Arizona Set to Divest from Ben & Jerry's Over Israel Boycott

In a brutal blow to the antisemitic BDS movement to boycott Israel, the state of Arizona is set to divest from Ben & Jerry’s.

Ben & Jerry’s became notorious after it decided to stop selling its products in the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria.

It was later revealed that the boycott was engineered by a racist anti-Israel activist on the company’s board who has recently been accused of financial malfeasance.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Arizona will divest some $143 million from Ben & Jerry’s, with State Treasurer Kimberly Yee saying, “As Arizona’s Chief Banking and Investment Officer, I stand with Israel and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to go towards antisemitic, discriminatory efforts against Israel.”

“Israel is and will continue to be a major trading partner of Arizona,” she said.

The move is in accordance with Arizona law, which prohibits public investment in entities that engage in boycotts of Israel.

Arizona is the first – but likely not the last – state to divest from Ben & Jerry’s, as several other states have similar laws on the books.
