Abbas: I'll Sever All Ties With Trump

After the United States said it would close the Palestinian mission in Washington, D.C., Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said he was considering severing the last ties with the White House.

According to Channel 10 News, Abbas is weighing whether to continue security cooperation with the United States. Despite a Palestinian boycott of the Trump administration, CIA officials reportedly still meet with their Palestinian counterparts.

The closure of the mission was just the latest move by the White House to punish the Palestinians for ignoring peace overtures. Trump has also cut aid to UNRWA, a United Nations agency providing aid, and has cut medical assistance as well. In fact, the only aid that remains is the $42 million that goes toward security cooperation efforts.

Ramallah called Trump "an enemy of the Palestinian people" according to the Channel 10 report.
