Iran will build 10 new nuclear plants and begin enriching uranium to a level -- 20% -- unseen previously, the Los Angeles Times reports. "The 20% enrichment begins on Tuesday under supervision of inspectors and observers from the International Atomic Energy Agency," or IAEA, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, said in an interview with Iran's state-owned Al-Alam television channel. Iranian officials also announced plans to build new unmanned military aircraft in a flurry of announcements ahead of annual commemorations of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution on Thursday. Iran's leadership has promised a "telling blow" for the West to mark its anniversary. |
