Israeli Navy Diverts Libyan Ship to Egypt | ||

A Libyan ship attempting to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza has instead rerouted to Egypt, where it will unload its cargo of aid, MSNBC reports. A spokesman for the ship said they would attempt to avoid a violent confrontation with the Israeli Navy. On May 31, the Navy boarded the Turkish Mavi Marmara, was attacked by activists on board and shot nine passengers in self defense. Ynet reports that Australian mogul Martin Schlaff has been mediating between Israel and the Libyan ship. Schlaff has ties both to Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Libya's Qadaffi regime. To read more, click here. |
